최현지

최현지(첼로)

첼리스트 최현지는 서울예원에서 수학도중 도미하여 뉴욕 쥴리아드 예비학교에 입학하였다. 그 후 동 대학에서 학사 학위를 취득한 후 이스트만 음대에서 석사 학위를 취득하였다. 그녀는 뉴욕의 카네기 와일홀에서 솔로이스트로서 데뷔하였고 링컨센터의 엘리스 튤리홀 등지에서 솔로와 쳄버 연주자로 연주하였다. 일본의 페시픽 국제 음악제, 캐나다의 토론토 음악제, 미국의 National Orchestral Institute 과 Killington Music Festival 등 다수 음악제에 참가하였으며 일본, 멕시코, 아르헨티나, 과테말라 등 각지에서 오케스트라 협연자 또는 실내악 연주자로 활동하였다.

그랜드 래피즈 심포니 단원을 역임하였고 현재 트리오 칼로스의 멤버로 활동중이다.

Hyun Ji Choi, a native of Seoul, S. Korea, earned her bachelor’s degree from the Juilliard School and her master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, studying with Ardyth Alton and Alan Harris. An avid performer, Hyun Ji has performed in many of the leading halls in New York City including Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and Juilliard Theatre among others. She has toured Japan, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Argentina as a soloist, recitalist and a chamber musician. She has participated in the Pacific Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, Toronto Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and Killington Music Festival. Before relocating to Maryland in 2016, she worked as a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony and is a member of Trio Kalos.
